The Rules

Posts must be:

  1. Links to news stories from...
  2. ...credible sources, with...
  3. ...their original headlines, that...
  4. ...would make people who see the headline think, “That has got to be a story from The Onion, America’s Finest News Source.”

Comments must abide by the server rules for Lemmy.world and generally abstain from trollish, bigoted, or otherwise disruptive behavior that makes this community less fun for everyone.

And that’s basically it!

I'd argue that consenting adults can do what they want, the "deviants" are the ones trying to break the covenant of consent.

The definition of deviant is.

departing from usual or accepted standards

Words are defined by usage not by dictionary writers. When people use that word to describe other people they use it a pejorative.

This gets difficult when you interact with strangers on the internet over vast distances. People may say it that way where you are from, but not here, so all we have to call back on is literal definitions of the words

Do you really think that is what they meant based on what they wrote?

[–] Sylver 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Who? The top comment? Because yes, I believe they were using the literal definition of the word
