Used to call myself Libertarian at one point. Then I grew up and realized most "Libertarians" are a group of morons who would get eaten by the wealthy if the world suddenly switched over to their ideal "Libertarian" society. You think the gap is bad between the rich and poor now? Let "Libertarian" ideals run amok for a decade....

I never really understood why an ideal in a method (i.e. limited government) woukd make sense considering how much governance changes with time.

Wealth redistributing taxes being used for education, subsidizing community sports facilities, health care are all excellent ideas.

Sure, in a time where half the population was illiterate and accountability systems for funding services like these were unthinkable, In understand why one might be skeptical.

I can see though how libertarianism is a nice cloak for the rich and for companies to argue they aren't responsible for their externalised costs.
