Everyone talking about how small and better lemm.ee is really starting to give "have you heard about this hidden gem The Witcher 3?" vibes.
lemm.ee isn't even that small. It's the 6th largest active lemmy instance iirc

That's the point of the joke, the witcher 3 is a huge game but people always act like they're in on some secret for knowing that it's good.

That's kind of what you want, though. A big enough operation that it probably won't just disappear or start enforcing really arbitrary and unreasonable rules, but small enough that it's not like lemmy.world.

mander.xyz and ttrpg.network are both rather niche instances in their own right, but don't defederate, and I don't believe are defederated by, anyone.
No one join them and say/do anything toxic though, don't ruin a good thing for me lol
