That's actually a good theory. She could've been hesitant to cook them and wouldn't let the kids eat them.

I note the victims were in one of those baptist cults. They are pretty misogynistic , so I bet they wouldn't listen to her if she said something.

Also possible they wouldn't share the mushrooms because there weren't enough
