Launched on July 26, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart only peaked at 8,757 concurrent players (CCU) on Steam (via SteamDB).

It currently holds a “Very Positive” rating based on 670 user reviews, with 84% of them being positive.

This makes Rift Apart the third worst launch on PC for a PlayStation game, only above Returnal (6,691 CCU) and Sackboy: A Big Adventure (610 CCU). There is also a PC version of Helldivers, with 6,744 peak CCU, but its developer Arrowhead is not SIE’s first-party studio.

I wonder if it being free on ps+ is having any effect. I had considered buying it on steam, but it being free on ps5 made that decision easy.

I don't think the overlap of those with PS5 and PC is that high. I think it's more the lack of marketing , $60 price tag, and being released 2 years later. It's also now competing with other triple a titles that have come out since then like Diablo 4. And other Sony exclusives on the PC that are now $20 or lower that those who are price sensitive can opt for instead getting multiple Sony exclusives for the price of one.

I haven't played Ratchet since I don't have a PS5, and I do want to play it. Just not for $60.
