[OC] Neighbor's house just went up.

Not sure how long it was going before the fire department arrived, but it was maybe ten minutes between when I heard the sirens and the fire was under control.

This is a Pixelfed post and that's how those posts work. It is able to feed into Lemmy by specifying a community, where it is shared as an image link.

You can go to OP's instance and see the difference, which is pixelfed.crimedad.work

For some reason this breaks the way my app (Voyager) identifies OP. It usually gives them a blue color to make it easier to spot OP in the comments, but here OP is not marked. Interesting.

OP is responding to comments on their Lemmy account (via lemmy.crimedad.work) so the system acknowledges them as two separate accounts. The post was opened by the Pixelfed account and they are commenting through the Lemmy account.

For now at least there is no way to link accounts in the system and flag them as the same person so that's why that's happening.
