Wait do they think local is only for the USA? like somehow outside their borders local politics don't exist because it is all some how "international"? Wait, does that mean they think when the USA does foreign policy that it is not "international"?
Wow, the mental gymnastics needed to be a member of the USA must be tiring.
They're trying to defend their choice of community name (arguably not doing a good job in my opinion). A lot of people have been complaining in other communities and I think they're getting defensive. Personally I think they chose poorly but ultimately it's not my call, so whatever. Only ones who can force them to change would be lemmy.world mods. They're saying there's no such thing as generic politics and that it'd all be local to somewhere so their claim to the name is fine (at least that's my interpretation based on what you said). Again, I disagree with the quality of their choice but I accept that it's their choice.
We won't know because the discussion is forbidden. I'm sure they'll point to some ever changing reason like all good politicians
We need to make a new /I/politics then. I think we should call it USpolitics and the first rule is no Politics from the US. If people ask why, we can say politics was already taken by a group that only allows politics from the US.

I have not seen any "hostile mods" on lemmy.world and everyone has the ability to put in a username in the modlog and see that you are lying. You had two comments removed total, but because of being uncivil to community members.
I'm aware of that, I'm not an idiot. I was on Reddit for 16 years I'm used to hostile mods.. the why is a lie. at.
