Reddit basically allowed people to access their website on mobile again. Before when you tried to access reddit, a big pop-up appeared forcing people to download the reddit. Now it's optional again. The exception is the NSFW subreddits unfortunately.
We would basically need to do three things.
Reduce the barrier to entry as it is still confusing for users to navigate or use Lemmy. On top of that, mobile apps are still in their early stages. Server stability is another consideration
Reddit and I guess Threads need some major platform changes that is disliked by the community at large.
Awareness that Lemmy exists.
