Ironically the first one is giving me a "couldn't find community" error (I guess I have to search it first?), but the second one is good.

That's because nobody on your instance has subscribed to it yet. Take the text ([email protected]), and in the communities page, paste that into search. Switch from "Communities" to "All" in the search options, then you can click through and subscribe.
