Hello everyone,

I'm not sure this is the right community for this, but I want to announce my new project: Infinity for Lemmy.

Basically, this is a fork of the Infinity for Reddit application, modified to get it to work with Lemmy.

But I must remind you to temper your expectations as this project is still in its infancy. It has some basic features already in place, but there’s a lot more to be accomplished.

What Infinity for Lemmy Can Currently Do:

• Browse posts • Handle multiple accounts • Upvote and downvote posts

What Infinity for Lemmy Cannot Do (Yet):

• Load comments • Handle subscriptions • Search for posts, users, or communities • Write posts or comments • Send private messages • And many more

So, while Infinity for Lemmy is in its current state not a feature-rich client, but it’s a promising start.

For those interested, here’s the link to my git repository: https://codeberg.org/Bazsalanszky/Infinity-For-Lemmy

I invite everyone to contribute in whatever capacity they can, whether it be through coding, reporting bugs, suggesting features, or even just providing feedback and insights. Let’s shape the future of Infinity for Lemmy together!

Call me rude, but I don't think you should be using the exact same name if you're not the original developer.

Something like infinity rebooted, infinity relaunch, or something like that is fine. Just straight up calling it infinity seems misleading. Also sucks for you if the original developer decides to make infinity for Lemmy.

Yeah, this got me excited that the original developer of Infinity got on the Lemmy train, but now I'm disappointed.

I'm not dev of this one,i only reposted from Android community to here!

LemmInfinity is currently in the early stages of development. Expect many unfinished features and bugs!

And in repository this is mentioned, so original name will be lemminfinity ig

Hey!

I'm the developer behind this project. I appreciate the honest feedback. You're right, I might have jumped the gun with using the Infinity for Lemmy name. The last thing I'd want is to mislead anyone or step on the original dev's toes. I mean, we're all here because we love Infinity, right?

I've been thinking about some new names, and right now "LemmInfinity" is what I want to go with. It ties us to Lemmy and still gives a nod to our Infinity roots. But I'm not totally set on it. Actually, I'd love to get more suggestions from you all.

LemmInfinity name works, as its distinguishable from the original..

Been trying the app for a couple of days, & it's really good!... One thing I noticed with the 0.0.3 build, which wasn't present in previous builds... When logged in, there are 2 trending tags?, one of which does not collapse with the parent Lemmy section in the navigation drawer.. Anyway please keep it going, its very useable already... thanks..
