Man I hope the jerboa devs are working feverishly to polish this app up. This could be a pretty painless transition if they get a move on.
Remembering preferences, like that I want my "front page" to be Subscribed and trending rather than active, not Local Active.. that and sorting by new are probably the big ones. If they can eventually get it anywhere near the Boost/baconreader experience that'd be incredible.
Getting people's heads around instances will be tricky but if people are looking for a specific place and are directed to it, that should be ok.
If you go to the settings for your profile you can set the preferences for the front page. Mine is now set to subscribed and new and works for the main page for the instance. No settings for the individual communits that I can see though.
Is that something you're doing on the web version or in app?... Can i do it in Jerboa?
Pretty sure it's attached to your account, so shouldn't matter where you do it from. But the profile settings in Jerboa is extremely buggy atm. Default sorting is all kinds of messed up for me, so I had to do it from the web.
Sooo... My account would be on my instance, or just the Lemmy main site?
Edit - yep, on my instance. Which I had forgotten. Got it now though, thanks
