I feel this, but my thoughts processes are more trauma based.
I'm sorry you're struggling mentally, it's so painful and irritating. I can't tell you how to overcome them, but I do know that you got it in you to surpass those poo-thoughts. The amygdala is part of the reptilian (lizard) brain, and is one of the oldest parts of our brains evolutionary wise. It detects and reacts to threats, real or perceived, in order to protect us. These days, with our current society, there are less "bodily" threats (like being eaten by a predator for eg), but it does still react the same. It sometimes helps me to meditate, like sit quietly with those thoughts and feelings, recognise them as part of my "human-ness" and thank that lizard brain for protecting me. Often I can get then calm down enough to re-engage the "logical" high thinking parts of my brain and sort of "logic" my out of that feeling of being overwhelmed. "Meditating" often takes the form of self-care for me, like filing and painting my nails, or having a shower. Anything to "groom" or "preen" myself. I'm sorry I can't help you get those freaky thoughts out of your head, but I do know in my heart that you have it in you to succeed, in whatever you put your effort and mind to!
