On the subject of things that should really be taught in school, one of my top requests would be Identification and Management of Narcissists.

I've recently had someone go into defend me against a narcissist abuser in my life, and all the defender has managed to do is become a target himself and escalate the narcissist's rage towards me.

Narcissists in my experience are expert manipulators. The way they can turn things is quite breathtaking. I'm sorry you and your defender are going through this.

expert manipulators

This is my experience too.

I fortunately clocked and blocked him immediately. The folks he's managed to bait into his subsequent smear campaign (including this defender) are now learning a lesson of their own, lol.

The good news is the more he escalates the less I care -- he comes across as absolutely nutso which makes him way easier to clock.

so many hugs

smear campaigns enrage me ♾️👿 it's one of my button issues

I am still surprised at the depths of moral depravity a narcissist will sink to.

they would support nazism if they thought it would make me look and feel bad ( they tried that one )

but really, they believe nothing, tomorrow they could say they support the true teachings of Jesus

it's just fleeting emotion and words

so ignore it

best thing to do is leave them

unfortunately sometimes they get in positions of power , like trump

That’s unfortunately how narcissists work. They are human tar pits.

It’s so fucked. There really should be a self defence course taught

This guy could be textbook reading materials for the course.

I swear there has to be a manual they work from

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

the human brain is the manual

theirs's and the brains of normal people

it makes predicting behaviour easy

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Once you know what they are, maybe :(

And sometimes they even surprise you

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

yes, I still get surprised

it's because i'm still measuring other people by my own experience of being me ,

it's an education , that's for sure

what I think is basic and human I find out is something cultural and learned

My ex is a narcissist, they're a wild breed of people. Their flying monkeys are just as complicit and yet also victims.

My ex loves to hide behind their trans identity, so any criticism is deemed "transphobic". They're masters of self-victimisation and manipulation.

The best bet is exactly what you've done: cut contact and block their ass forever. They never change, they'll never have any sort of self-reflection or self-understanding, because "it's everyone else's fault".

Be kind to yourself.

It is pretty amusing when the people they have enthralled start waking up and seeing the light though. VINDICATION!

It was pretty awesome, and sad, when I saw old friends testing mutual friends for empathy responses

as you say, vindication , I am not the crazy or dysfunctional one!

same with the young Seagoons. They are now asking me questions about the weird behaviours they have observed in fam members. Vindication and sadness mixed.
