Is there language-learning software that lets me supply my own audio files (from books/native speakers)? (self.languages)

I've tried a few language-learning apps, but the quality varies depending on the language. I'm more confident in the books that come with CDs.

In the past I would have coded something and added the text and audio to give myself a crude language app with superior content. But I don't think I have it in me anymore so I'm looking for something that comes without the content. Does anything like this exist?

Yeah, basically an application that has spaced repetition but no content would work. It would need to track the users strengths and weaknesses and challenge them the right amount.

What I would ideally develop would allow people to install it locally so they can add their own copyrighted content without getting in trouble.

Practically that would mean slicing up mp3 files to make some kind of audio-based flash cards. Then text from the book would need to be copied and pasted in. Tedious, but worth it if you have quality resources.

I'm sure you have already tried Anki right? It does have audio and offline capabilities, I haven't used it that much. If you just need something, not necessarily related to language then it might be good.
