That's not standing up to it, that's giving them exactly what they want
They would happily kill NOAA, say they're going to privatize anything important, and then when shit hits the fan (because this is obviously a terrible idea) they'll ask why minorities would do this
The smart idea is to give them something to buy time. Resistance would be giving them a long list of things that don't exist or have already been shut down, or things in other departments to spread confusion
“Sorry sir the full report will take long we’ll go ahead and get you what we can starting chronologically” start with every research from 1807. Next week they get every paper from 1808.
Only problem is saying sorry. Sorry is failure that can be pressed on
