Israeli security forces backed by helicopters raided the volatile West Bank city of Jenin on Tuesday, killing at least nine Palestinians in what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a “large-scale and significant military operation”.

“We are acting systematically and resolutely against the Iranian axis wherever it extends its arms – in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Judea and Samaria,” Netanyahu said. Judea and Samaria are terms Israel uses for the occupied West Bank.

The move into Jenin, where the Israeli army has carried out multiple raids and large-scale incursions over recent years, comes only two days after the start of a ceasefire in Gaza.

Israeli NGO B’Tselem accused the Israeli government of using the Gaza ceasefire as “an excuse and opportunity to ratchet up the oppression of West Bank Palestinians”.

“This is not what a ceasefire looks like,” it said.

In the days leading up to the Israeli military operation in Jenin, Palestinians in the West Bank said multiple roadblocks had been set up throughout the territory, where violence has resurged since the start of the war in Gaza.

I hope those who didn't vote or voted for trump in protest are happy...

Looks like he also removed pause on 2,000lbs bombs :(

[insert image depicting a demoncrat responding to a global south person/literally any minority with "I just thought of worse ways the Republicans could go about killing you" here]

Lol, as if Harris would have stopped this. BlueMAGA completely disconnected from reality

Aren't you glad your party didn't listen to them?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

What leads you to think Genocide Joe or Kamala would be pushing back against this? Also, the 2k bomb thing under Biden was about OUR capacity to have enough of those, there was never a real pause because industrial capacity never lapsed afaik. Genocide Joe asked Reagan to kill more children in Lebanon in the 80's. He LOVED every drop of blood he bled from a quarter million or more Palestinians, his only regret is he didn't get more non-jew child blood.

Now trans people don’t exist, the brownshirts are back in force, and Palestine will be obliterated. To be honest, I don’t think protest voters pushed the vote very far to the right, so I’m mostly just poking fun

Trump has already done more to stop Palestine being obliterated than the Democrats did. The fact that you had the head in the sand for the entire last year doesn't change the facts.

What’d he claim credit for, this time?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

He claimed credit for sending an envoy to Israel to actually use American leverage to procure a ceasefire. The actual terms of the Trump/Netanyahu deal are yet unknown.

If you don't believe Trumps narrative, then you have to come up with an alternate explanation as to why Netanyahu suddenly accepted the terms of the ceasefire deal that has been on the table since at least May 2023. Personally, I have not heard of a plausible alternate theory.

No, I don’t think I’m going to form opinions based on conjecture. That’s how one falls down a propaganda hole

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 hours ago

I appreciate your skepticism, but if that's your burden of proof, then I'm unsure how you would ever form a political opinion. Its conjecture and propaganda all the way down, mate.

The most scientific approach one can take is look at all the evidence, form hypothesis and alternate hypothesis, and determine the likelihood of each.

I do not trust Trump, and I certainly do not believe he cares about Palestinians. But the only hypothesis that seems to fit the facts is "Trump envoy applied pressure, Bibi capitulated". But if anyone has an alternate theory I would be interested to hear it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Ok, well the non-conjecture fact is that Trump's envoy secured a ceasefire.

conjecture
/kən-jĕk′chər/

noun
Opinion or judgment based on inconclusive or incomplete evidence; guesswork.

You sure are arrogant for someone who has been living in a cave.

I see you standing over a woman badly beaten in a hospital bed. [whiny voice] “boy! I hope you’re happy! You went and got yourself raped AND beaten for resisting that rape! There you were walking around in a short skirt, so it’s basically your fault you were raped! THEN you had the audacity to try to stop it, and you got yourself beaten half to death too! I hope you’re happy with yourself young lady!”
