Was breaking into the capital not a felony? A pardon doesn't wipe a felony it just gets you out of jail.

Clemency just gets you out of jail. A pardon wipes the slate clean.

Had to look it up because wiping the slate clean doesn't sound right, and it isn't (conviction will stay on record). However it does restore voting rights and the ability to purchase firearms so question answered.
