College football is like European soccer. A few big teams take all the top talent. The rest just aren't equal.

With NIL, top teams can't hoard top players so the difference between top teams and midlevel teams is much closer.

NIL and the transfer portal haven't leveled the field. It's still the haves, the sort of haves and the barely a team schools. About half the playoff teams this year were top 15 or so nil programs. If you count those that won a game, Penn State is the lowest spender, but still in the top 30.

It's a high variability game, so money isn't going to equal wins constantly (see Texas a&m).

NIL and the transfer portal made it better, 4 star recruits are no longer sitting on the bench, they go to programs where they can play.

Well midlevel teams need to get same budget as big teams. So whoever can spend will get the talent rn. That's basically what happens in European soccer. Whichever club gets big money behind it gets to be successful. Like Mancity. Mancity was an also run till the oil money took over.

That doesn't even happen in the NFL which has the best parody of any league.

Yes NFL and NBA with the draft and free agency doesn't allow a few teams to accumulate the talent. I don't know how you do that in college though.

But there are still dominate teams in the NBA and NFL. There are teams that spend significantly less than the top teams.

Yes NBA a single player can make a huge difference because its only 5 players. But the talent disparity isn't as great between teams in NFL like it is in college.
