go see the .world version of this in their politics community; even now, when there's data to prove this they continue to stick their heads in the sand and it makes me scared for the future.

They're arrogant, ignorant, and cult like. They also sound exactly like the fascist they claim everyone else is. I guess getting banned from there was more of a blessing than anything. I tried to warn them but they just assumed anyone who dared to question Biden & Kamala were Russian.

I saw one cheering for forcing federal employees to return to office.

i'm expecting them to ban me as well since i practically spammed that post in the last hour or so.

Edit: they deleted the post instead. lol

You folks know that we are "in the same room" as you?

:P

I'm glad y'all are here. Lemmy is a small community. I hope we can continue to make this a welcoming place that will attract people away from corporate social media.

Let's not make a culture war where there should be a class war.

nobody's trying to make it a culture war. It just happens that most of .world is happily fighting the class war on behalf of the propertied classes because they have a blue circle with a D in it.

It's good to hear that criticism sometimes. Thank you.

You folks know that we are “in the same room” as you?

honestly i forget most of the time. lol

there are so many liberals on lemmy, especially on .world that rarely post/comment and it makes me forget that they're there lurking most of the time so i'm glad you commented; this community could be better by the addition so it more closely mirrors the activity of the other leftists communities.

my like minded friend is right; an overwhelming majority of liberals exhibit provocative behavior when confronted w their behavior regarding lots of things including the genocide; exactly like the post i was referring to in my comment.

i was getting meaningful engagement w people who couldn't/wouldn't appreciate the gravity of a genocide and it's impact on the election and i think it helped me understand a little bit more why something so obvious to me wasn't so obvious to them; then they removed the post simply because it was a substack article on a yougov poll explaining that kamala harris lost the election due to the genocide.

bieng able to talk about things like this wo the mod who deleted that post having the ability to delete this discourse about it, is what makes lemmy worthwhile; but the class war is going to take a while longer if our somewhat-likeminded friends continue to insist on these provocative behaviors on lemmy.

That sounds frustrating. Lately I have been trying to think if there is a good way to help promote political discussion in a really constructive way.

I don't know your specific situation. I moderate a community and yeah sometimes a post will end up with a lot of aggression in the comments so rather than try to make a lot of nuanced judgement calls I'll remove the post with an apology to OP.

I also have made a lot of mistakes. I'm certainly learning a lot about being a better online citizen.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

not frustrating at all; simply par for the course when talking to people from .world and i wish that there were more that could break that mold.

also: bieng a halfway decent online citizen should be a requirement for any mod; but clearly not on .world or .ee.

Except you folks are the one that try to make it into a culture war when you banned people that brought up Kamala's statements on her unconditional support of genocide & her cozying up to neocons like Liz Cheney. Just last week Biden was giving Cheney a medal of honor & named an aircraft carrier after George Bush. If "you folks" want it to be a class war then stop banning people pointing out that it is a class war, while you engage in a culture war.

Sorry I wasn't aware of that situation. Talking about politics on the internet, or in real life for that matter, is tricky to do in a constructive way. Thanks for being in my virtual neighborhood and helping us learn together.
