Yes, because we haven't been calling them fools for years, maybe we should try it! Maybe it'll work and not just drive them further and further away from sanity out of spite!
We've also been trying to explain facts but that's even less effective.
You are failing because you assume that when given the facts they they would agree with you. For the most part they know the facts and choose deliberately to act in the way they have.
Imagine what your decisions would look like if you chose to actively punish people you disagreed with.
You see someone running by the pool and say,” don’t run you could slip and fall.”
Solution one: post a sign and install slip resistant coating, making it harder to fall, but still possible.
Solution two: see the person running and deliberately trip them so they fall, rending your warning correct.
They have such vastly different motivations and priorities from you that you can’t understand how they could know the truth and act like they do.
Some people have been trying, sure. But most just choose to try and prove their superiority by being as obnoxious as possible.
And no, saying what you believe to be right in a condescending matter is not "trying to explain facts".
You lay out the bare facts. Proof is demanded. You lay out proof: studies, papers, data. The response is that the data is made up and that these so-called scientist and experts are not to be trusted. That's followed up that it's all the fault of Kamela anyway because she slept her way to the top or something similar. Oh yes, great conversations.
This guy gets it.
Demonizing the south as inbred yokels who can't read doesn't get them to listen to you, it just reinforces their xenophobic ideas about how the Liberal Elite are mocking them.

I used to, but I found making the world my enemy and acting accordingly only leaves people acting with ignorance rather than malice thinking they were right about people like me.
Keep in mind, I speak of kindness only to people who don't know better, not people who definitely do and are just basically fucking Nazis
I agree that the mocking approach doesn’t work in terms of enacting change. I’m still in favor of it for our own sakes just because it’s fun.
