Are any of them not assholes? Are any of them not rich? Every surgeon I've met is a rich asshole. Rich people voted trump, assholes voted trump.
Yeah, you got it. There are a rare few that aren't total douchebags.
I'd love to hear more about the decent ones. Because my perception is so skewed to think every surgeon is an asshole. I had one of the dumbest conversations of my professional life with one if you'd like.
Typically, the really chill surgeons are younger.
So the ones who still have a connection to real people because they have massive debt?
There are a variety of reasons. Something related to the work, however, is the change in culture with residents and attendings.
Drive by doctors who would not be able to do that shit under single payer.
