In the long run it uses less power to keep it ein rest mode than powered off. Updates applied in rest mode use 1/20th as much energy than ones applied while fully powered on and that's assuming you keep your TV off during the update. Add a tv in to the mix and rest mode is 80-100x more efficient and your games are always ready to play.

Games aren't updated everyday. It uses less power when its off and doesnt have any LEDs piercing the nighttime. There has been more than one occasion where leaving it in rest mode factory resets it due to mobo issues. So its not worth trusting. Look at the Launch PS5s.

That's fair. In my case I love quick resume and make frequent use of remote play as well so rest mode makes sense to me more than the couple of cents a day it costs in hydro. I have stable power here so it never really gets restarted because of that though I know that's a luxury for some.

Honestly the only thing is the cardinal sin of your system being factory reset when the bois are tryna mob. That alone is enough for me to never sleep it. I ain't turning my shit on to it being wiped when I'm expecting to game. Had that happen exactly one time before I moved to PC and it was enough.
