Don't people have any hobbies, passions, or anything better to talk about? Politics and news are such boring conversations, full of intentional outrage and strife. I sure wish that we as an online community could break away from the divisive machinations of the disreputable media.

I normally do stick to my subscribed feed. I was hoping to discover new communities, but it's almost all news and politics.

Just block those communities as you see them and it gets significantly more enjoyable

Thanks for the advice. I have been doing that, but despite blocking dozens of them, more keep popping up. That's what led to this post, being surprised by the sheer volume of it. Perhaps it would help if I stick to local so I don't have to contend with every community across every instance.
