Condolences. Now comes the hard part - being kind to yourself and your immediate family. Which will be damned hard. Take time to process your feelings - either positive or negative. I found both. The one true purpose of funerals/memorials is that organising them helps to process those feelings. Be aware that other family members will have different feelings. The damned part is being patient with them and validating their feelings as well as your own. Don't shortchange yourself in that department. Take whatever time you need. Sending vibes to help when the feelings ambush you. Which they will do - usually when least convenient. Been there and done that myself. I found a grief counsellor helped me a lot after my bloke died during covid. The language of grief/relief can be grimly humorous too which I found to be an unexpected bonus.

Iโ€™m really sorry. Take as much time as you need to absorb, it can be complicated

I'm really sorry. Even when you know it's coming the death of a parent is really hard. Know that it's OK to not be OK for a while, but that you will be OK again. We'll all be here for you and do whatever we can to support you in our limited way.

Thinking of you โค๏ธ

I'm glad for you all that his stay in pall care was not prolonged, and I hope that his comfort and care were exemplary. Grief is a funny thing, and you are among friends here. โค๏ธ

Oh catfish. He went into palliative not long ago, right? My condolences, hugs and hope for all the next steps to be as peaceful and easy as they can be. But right now your job is just to breathe and feel whatever you have to feel for a bit.
