The three cameras and AI-powered food detection almost reads like satire.
And all of this tech is just asking for problems way down the road. My expectation is that kitchen appliances should work ~20 years. I would have much preferred if they spent all this extra tech-related costs on improving long-term usage life.
But then how are they going to sell you a new one when your warranty expires?
I don't buy replacement koren appliences after that one samsug disaster of fridge 10 years ago. I'm told lg is better but I won't risk it. So they can't sell me replacements, I but other brands that last.
Kind of amusing how it is almost universally agreed Samsung makes trash. For us it was the TV with ads our roomate had. On top of the annoying ads (or whatever that annoying overlay was) the HDMI ports stopped working sometimes. Even if it was the best picture I had seen to date, it was clunky and the software kept making it slower and slower.
hi LG support I need a new camera
I can help you with that. Which camera do you need?
aren't they the same
no, it's three different cameras. Which one do you need?
um, the middle one, camera 2 I guess
I'm sorry that's been discontinued. What else can I help you with?
can you give me the address for corporate?
certainly, what's you name for our records?
Luigi
It also really does not solve anything either. It's just overpriced gadgets that will likely end up as part of a bot farm or early trash because more components = more things that can and will eventually break.
This isn't for you. They still sell inexpensive no frill ovens. Not every product is going to be designed to what you want.
I am well aware. At one point I worked professionally in a data service provision role for this market.
My point stands. Even if you are into this kind of thing, it is not reasonable to not have to deal with a tech system that gets abandoned or becomes a pain in 3-5 years.
Just my opinion. :)
