Dull Men's Club
An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.
1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.
2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.
3. Avoid repetitive topics.
4. This is not a search engine or advice forum.
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions, identify objects or get advice. We accept very few questions, and they must be over topics much more difficult than what is easily discoverable with a search. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.
5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.
6. Not hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.
7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.
8. All polls must have an "Africa, by Toto" option. Why? Because we hear the drums echoing tonight.

This. Driving sleepy is waaay more dangrous than driving drunk (well, maybe not as driving blackout drunk, but way more dangerous than driving with 3-4 beers for sure)
Yeah, I'm accustomed to just stop and sleep 15-30min mid drive if I start feeling too sleepy
Good call. I almost got in an accident a long time ago due to driving while tired. Now I don't care if I'm even just a half hour from home. I'll pull over to rest my eyes and grab a coffee or something.
Also, flexing your leg muscles helps. Push that blood back to the brain like a fighter pilot pulling G's!
Absolutely, but I think this is late when you feel sleepy but helps with just being tired!
Flexing your leg is also a good technique to get rid of unwanted "stiffness" in the groin area, if you catch my drift. This is more relevant to our younger readers, but it helps occasionally as an adult.
It's people who don't habitually drink and are partying down that cause accidents and get busted. Those people are why I stay off the roads on holidays.
I mean, alcohol clearly throws your reflexes, no way around it, but we rarely have to make split-second moves while driving. Can't remember the last time I had to dodge something. Worst I see is people clearly hammered or otherwise not 100% in control and I get the fuck away from them ASAP.
And yes, about the worst I've scared myself was driving home from college and jerking awake, realizing I had been driving asleep. Jesus.
14-hours on the road to get the kids tomorrow. Fuck me. Talk about dull. And then all over again in a week.
