I can already tell it's gonna flop. I hope I get proved wrong but any AAA game from the past 8 years is dog shit
I can’t think of a single game that Obsidian has made that was bad.
Well, the first question you gotta ask these days is "is it really Obsidian, though".
They’ve released three games since being bought by Microsoft, all of them good. I honestly find all the dooming weird. It’s as if people want this game to be bad just because of Microsoft. I’ll revise my opinion in the face of evidence that they’re no longer producing the quality that I’ve come to expect from them.
Was more of a general rule of thumb.
I've no ill will towards Obsidian and I'm definitely looking forward to a first person fantasy game that's not Bethesda junk! But yeah, I'll judge when reviews hit Steam and not a moment sooner.
Neither can I but that was then this is now. I'm just very skeptical when I see a $70 price tag. AAA Games in the last 3 years especially have been flopping hard
I don't think that's a fair assessment.
Baldur's gate 3, Elden Ring, and Tears of the Kingdom are all triple A in regards to budget and hardly what I would call flops.
I think Avowed will definitely have its fans. Performance issues like stuttering look like they'll be an issue though, but it's all stuff that can improve.
