So much evidence of Republicans cheating. Where is that evidence against the Dems in 2020? I wanna see which pile is bigger.

They don't see it as cheating. They really don't.

1984 gets so overused as a cliche that it's easy to overlook how powerful Orwell's insight was, in terms of how that type of mental structure operates and how powerful it is. If you've ever dealt with a narcissistic person or a certain type of toxic religious person, it'll be instantly recognizable.

Words come unmoored from their meanings, but they retain their connection to events in the real world, and to the internal emotional states. This person doesn't think he's cheating. He truly believes that he is fixing things. But, simultaneously and with no real awareness, he is aware that he is cheating and needs to keep his activities hidden lest they be detected. But he's not cheating. That's something that Democrats do, and if we did it, we were only trying to set things right, because they're cheating.

Add a lot of yelling and emotional charge to reinforce the viewpoint and all of a sudden you've got yourself a bloodless coup that everyone's cheering for.

Id consider it less "fixing" things and more like evening the playing field for them.

ThErE alReADy DOinG iT sO whY ShoULdNT I??? ItS onLY FAiR. Is what I assume is going on in their heads.

Ironic that I don't hear them really whining about mail in voting this time around, apart from a couple of cases of people sabotaging ballot drop off boxes... I guess there's still time for fuckery though.

Yeah, that.

Or they’re just like, you know, straight up cheating.
