I just have to start distracting myself when it happens.

That sounds like quite the position of privilege you're coming from.

I'm stressing over it because I don't want my daughter or any other queer people put in "conversion" camps. And then we move on to all the brown people that will also be put in concentration camps...

Sadly, we are in Indiana. Thankfully, we are right on the Illinois border. Between that and my dual citizenship with the UK, I should be less worried. I’m not.

We're in a purple state now. Best we could do. Started saving and planning during COVID when we saw friends and family go down the rabbit hole.

We looked at Canadian citizenship but it was to expensive. We're pretty much resigned to riding it out here, nothing else we can do.

I'm voting for Kamala but it's not like her victory will remove that threat to queer people and minorities. All the people that want to harm them will still be here gearing up for the next election and blocking anything positive from happening. It will never end.

Sure it's better than Trump, but that doesn't mean she will be safe. All the people who want to harm her will still be out there working to do so. This doesn't go away when Trump loses.
