I’ve never heard any rhyming slang that didn’t seem like a joke was being had at the expense of sanity

The one that gets me is "aris" as it's a two-stepper: Aristotle -> bottle -> bottle and glass -> arse. It also relies on the the southern pronunciation of "glass", as most ones for arse do (unlike Hagen Daas).
