Democracy is when 60% of your population gets to vote for one of the two corporate stooges propped up by the local corrupt and scloratic cartels. And then those cartels collaborate to siphon off the fruits of the national economy in order to wage endless war against the unaligned states of the third world.
Tyranny is when your worker's soviets struggles together for over half a century to resist a siege of your island by the world's most advanced military. You endure shortages of food and fuel and access to even the most common manufactured goods, because of the armed blockade of every port of call in your country. And the resilience required of your national struggle creates such a sense of fierce loyalty to one another that billions of dollars in foreign agitprop, espionage, and fascist-sponsored insurrection cannot compel you or your neighbors to betray the popular political leadership that guide you.
Imagine blaming shortages of food, fuel, and basic goods on people who literally want to trade it to you for cheap crafts, machinery, and textiles instead of the people in charge of your production of food, fuel, and basic goods.
