Any great RPGs in the indie scene? Or are those beasts just too big to handle for small teams (reminds me that I did like the knights of pen and paper)?
@[email protected] I never played it personally but I heard great things about Disco Elysium
@[email protected] @[email protected] I know it’s called an RPG but I almost feel like Disco Elysium is more graphic novel? Maybe 50/50. What I’ve played of it was good but I’ve yet to finish it.
It's on my toplay list, or at least to check out list!
I'm really enjoying Sea of Stars. It's probably not the high-poly open world action RPG you had in mind though.
Ha ha Knights of pen&paper is 2D pixel and also I'm not a fan of "realistic" (I prefer Diablo 2 original vs Remake for example).
@Valmond @innkeeper Currently enjoying exploring the weird world in Dread Delusion, though it's light on RPG mechanics. Reminiscent of the excellent exploration and nostalgic feeling of Lunacid. In my opinion the best ARPG currently out is Grim Dawn, if you like more RPG depth with your carnage. Lots of great indie RPGs.
Grim dawn definitely looks like something to check out.
@Valmond I would recommend adding a mod called GrimTex right off the install. It upscales the texture resolution and generally improves the look of the game, I feel it works very nicely with Aetherial ReShade installed as well.
@Valmond @innkeeper
I've got a few suggestions:
Classic round-based RPGs?
Doom&Destiny, Undertale, Chained Echoes
Isometric?
ATOM RPG, UnderRail
Idle?
Incremental Epic Heroes, Your Chronicle, Soda Dungeons
Action?
Palworld, Enshrouded
Farming?
Roots of Pacha, Sun Haven, Little Known Galaxy
Give me some more details, and I might have something. I play quite a lot of different RPGs.
Hey thank you ! That's a big list already!
Doom&Destiny and Chained Echoes looks nice already, gotta check them out :-)
@Valmond Doom&Destiny and Doom&Destiny Advanced are my favourites. I just don't know how well the jokes and puns translates into english.
Thanks, I'll give it a try, it looks like exactly what I'm looking for!
