Until Firefox mobile has a functional home button in the toolbar then I don't care what the fuck the do because I won't be using it. Dumb as fuck not to have it.
?
Open a new tab, there, home.
I can't set it to a custom page, like the dashboard page of my server which gives me access to all my services that I selfhost, and favorite links.
You can't do that in about:config?
No, that does not work...
That house in the bottom left is a home button:
And you can’t customize where that home button does, making it useless. You can not set it to a specific URL, I want to set it to the dashboard page that I selfhost that shows me the status of different things I want to see, gives me access to all my services, and has all my favorite links on it.
That doesn't exist in the mobile nightly.
But honestly that's no problem and I hadn't noticed because I just pin things to the new tab window.
Like the home icon at top left? I don't get your point. Using fennec.

The same button is also there in stock Firefox. Im not sure what the OP was on about
That home button is not able to be set to a specific URL making it useless to me.
Thats an interesting point, hadnt thought about that. Its probably the start page youd have to change.. i know you can do it on desktop...
Yeah, on desktop you can, I've used Firefox on desktop since it was called Phoenix and never used anything else... 20+ years. Firefox mobile is not usable to my workflows without a functional home button.
Usually people complain about removing it, don't understand what op meant

Makes sense. You could check out Foss browser
What is your home page that you need access to it so conveniently?
Besides, new tab can be set to a webpage instead of a blank tab
