Cats can live a lot longer than that now that diets are better. I've owned 2. One died at 20, due to an accident, and the other is 21 and still going strong. The oldest cat on record was 38. The current oldest is 29.

That made me a bit happier to read! I don't know exactly how old she is, but my cat has to be around 13 and I've been very upset thinking about how soon the end might be for us.

And there's recently been advancements in medicine towards preventing kidney issues. Hopefully this will give many kitties many more good years!
