That's actually some damned fine campaigning! We know he's full of shit, but that's solid messaging to get out there, gives 'em something to feel good about, latch onto positive talking points. "See! We ain't hateful! This is exactly what we want!"
If Trump had played this sort of game all along, he might actually be looking good in this race.
