I had watched it. It was funny but breaks established Vulcan traits. They are violently emotional but contain it with meditation/training to strictly follow logic. The 'logic is innate to their biology' flies in the face of canon. Didn't see a date anywhere either.
Edit: I'm hoping the full episode explains it better
It did say Spock would have to train them and they looked pretty violent in the scene where Pike has the Vulcan weapon.
