Confused by this one, given that https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_Impulse went around the world on solar power. Are they suggesting it wouldn't have batteries? Or they are only talking about airliners?

They can also fly above the clouds.... Solar energy just straight up isn't enough energy for something like a commercial jet though.
