The solution is to listen to your electorate. That's what democracy should be.
That should be enough but a missinformed electorate can be just as bad. I live in a universal suffrage direct democracy and let me tell you it's far from perfect.
Right wing parties just need to dump their corporate donated money into propaganda to scare the boomers and they'll vote their way. And with an ever ageing population, the boomers are all they need
