A community dedicated to the universe of Warhammer 40k, a tabletop setting in the far, distant future.

This is a general community for 40k miniatures, art, lore discussion, and gameplay discussion.

Rules

  1. Keep it civil.
  2. No memeposts/shitposts. Memes are great but direct them to grimdank.
  3. Please mark any posts containing realistic nudity or realistic excessive gore/violence as NSFW; this rule mainly applies to cosplay and realistic drawings rather than miniatures. Being that 40k is inherently violent, this is a judgement call, and mods may occasionally request posters add tags.
  4. No political or social cause agenda pushing.

Oh wow! Would you mind sharing your recipe for that shade of green? I've been trying to paint salamanders for a while and just cannot find the right shade of green to match the lore art.

It’s nothing fancy. I recently switched to an undercoat of Vallejo Game Color Sick Green direct on the model then 1-2 layers of Warpstone Glow. Edge highlights are Moot Green.

I was using the standard GW method of Warpstone over Caliban but I found it to be a pain b/c it took 3+ layers of Warpstone to get no streaks and it came out kind of dark.

Yeah, that was my experience with that method, too. I'll try the Vallejo on the next test - thanks for sharing!
