Scrambled eggs, Vegemite toast, a selection of cold meats, cherry tomatoes and cucumber for dinner tonight. Tasty, comfort food, very low effort.

I can beat that!

Reheating left over rice (made 3 days worth). Air frying chicken nuggets on the side.

Mix in various sauce and voila, mix and mash uninspired meal.

@Duenan @CEOofmyhouse56 frozen chicken and pasta with hard boiled quail eggs. Hardest effort was peeling those eggies 🥚

Yum. I think we need to declare this day Monday 10th of July POULTRY DAY 🦃🐔🐓🐣🐤🐥🐦🕊🦅🦆🦢🦉🦤🦩🦚🦜🥚🍳

That's an interesting dish, and it got me thinking, the only time I ever have quail eggs is in hotpot. What's the difference/benefit to them over chicken eggs? I imagine they are way more expensive.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

@Force_majeure122 they are more expensive if you compare them weight wise. Nutritionally speaking AFAIK they are higher in just about every nutrition factor compared to a chicken egg but given that you don't really eat them every day it's more of a novelty anyway.

We used to keep quails at home when I was a kid and had their eggs often. Go great with salads

Hehe nice one. The eggs really so sound like a pain to peel being small and all.

Was it tasty?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

@Duenan very tasty 😋 I honestly don't know why the technique I use with normal chicken eggs to easily peel them doesn't work with quail eggs.

Technique: boil the eggs starting with boiling water then rinse them in cold water. Works every time.

Oh I forgot to mention the chicken nuggets were from Aldi as well. Just the regular crumbed ones.

I haven’t tried the Dinos or the tempura version yet.

They are all very good.
