The ongoing toxic fallout means that the sunblocker the mechanoids brought along won't cause any damage for the time being.

I'm fairly certain that toxic fallout will kill your crops too.

Yes, that's the idea. I won't need to destroy the sunblocker, because the crops will die anyway.
