Gotta wonder if this is the end for Akasaka-sensei
Not necessarily. This isn't the first time a manga of his has been axed, and I think both Rendai and Instant Bullet were pretty good. This could either be the publisher saying that it isn't popular enough or Aka-sensei himself losing passion for Rendai. They can't all be bangers I suppose.
