There's not a ton of content or activity on either community and both are small. I don't have a stake in either besides wanting to have an active DC community.

Starting  next month, those bright red buses with yellow accents will start disappearing from D.C. streets. After nearly 20 years, the D.C. Circulator will be completely gone by the end of the year

On a recent weekday morning, I rode three of the Circulator’s 6 bus routes across the city, from Dupont Circle to Rosslyn, from Georgetown to Union Station, and from Union Station to Congress Heights. Several riders told me that the end of the Circulator will add more time to their commutes. Kyle Parker, who uses the Circulator to get to to construction jobs around the city, says the Circulator gives him more options when wait times for Metrobus are too long. *“*The Circulator pretty much do a good job just being in between the routes,” says Parker.

WMATA released a plan last week to expand Metrobus service to cover the gaps caused by the elimination. However, many riders, particularly those who rely on Circulator routes in the southern quadrants of the city, will still miss out.

I applied for a contract job at one of the government offices in a certain field and they gave me an offer at the place but for a completely unrelated field after one interview, without any communication on doing so. For example, if I were in medicine, it's like being a face doctor and they gave me a job in podiatry. Is this normal? I assumed if I apply to job X and I'm told I have an offer, that it would be for job X.

A long-uncertain plan to add protected bike lanes to an over three-mile portion of Connecticut Avenue in Northwest DC has been officially canceled, according to city officials. But is this really the end of the battle between those who favor the lanes and those who oppose them?

Executives at the Washington Area Bicyclist Association tell Washingtonian that they are gearing up to push back against the decision. On their website, they’ve posted a petition to restore the plan for bike lanes, and they are currently making plans to speak out at upcoming DDOT hearings.

Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma launched a coffee shop, Childhood Cafe, off U Street today in the space previously occupied by ThreeFifty Bakery and Coffee Bar. U.S. racks up munitions costs in indefinite fight against Houthis

Those strikes come with a significant price tag. In some cases, U.S. forces have used Tomahawk missiles, which can cost about $2 million each. But even beyond the costs themselves, analysts warn that the U.S. is quickly depleting its weapons stockpiles, which were already running thin after years of military support for Ukraine in its war with Russia.

“The price of the munitions themselves may be pennies to the Pentagon financially, but using so many of them amounts to a significant blow to our actual stockpiles of these weapons,” said Mr. DiMino, the Defense Priorities analyst. “By some estimates, the Navy has already used more than a year’s worth of [Tomahawk missile] production in Yemen. It takes time to build these things. So, the costs are not just sticker price. It can set back our production by years in some cases.”
