Christmas 40k Battleforce boxes announced (www.warhammer-community.com)

These look to be poor value compared to previous years.

12 years ago an astute commentor noted that Warhammer lore was far less static than some would like to believe.

I stumbled on this comment while looking for something completely unrelated to the boring Primarchs but here we are. Also Leman Russ' original version was almost as ugly as the modern incarnations!

That's because he's not even a primarch at this point - just an Imperial Commander.

All the people whining about 40k's "static, unchanging" fluff need to take a long had look at just how much has changed over 20 odd years.

Thought I’d share these cards I just finished up.

I dunno about you, but I like cards. The book is incorrect the moment it’s printed, and printouts are nice buuuut annoying to flip through pages. Cards are nice.

First, the lovely person running Print-AOS over on Ko-fi super nicely formatted the various scrolls for a 4x6 format and put em for free download. Snagged the squads I have, then went to google for a suitable cardback. I really liked the image of the battletome with AOS banner over it, but it was weirdly hard to find for some armies. There isn’t some repository of them, just randomly used on articles. Snagged jpgs of those, then over the Snapfish (any photo printing service or your own printer is fine, I’m not sponsored I swear). $5 and had all the photos shipped to me. Slide em into some 4x6 toploaders and done.

Reeeeaaally enjoyed the 3 games of spearhead I got to play, hopefully having these will make it easier to get people I have over to try it out. Books and printouts are a bit daunting for folks, cards are love. If anyone has an even easier solution please share

Finally finished with this guy. A fun project but so many books and crannies to get into. I have named him Seneca Pious in honour of someone who helped helped out a lot while I was developing him.

What do you think his lore for turning to chaos should be?

Just started on this spooky boy and thought I would post a WIP since it is Wednesday.

First time doing water transfers and also masking liquid, so that has been fun!

What do you think?

Dices and rolling (warhammer-dice-roller.netlify.app)

Is it ok for me to not use physical dices for rolling? i don't have enough dices, so I coded a quick website to roll dices, my friends are fine with me playing like that. Also if you like the website, is there anything I should add?

My first ever Black Templar is done! It was a lot of fun to paint. I wanted to do a kind of old, weather beaten look with a leather cowl and stuff as well as some extra little bits an pieces. I didn't have any transfer sheets so I just freehanded a roughed up mark on his pauldron.

Constructive criticism would be awesome! This is my third space marine so far and I think I'm learning a lot each time.!

3d printed the skeleton and glued it to some mdf board. Primed with wraithbone, and hit em with Agrax Earthshade.

Covered it in a layer of Vallejo earth texture, then mud technical paint patches in a few places. Spattered Elmer’s glue about, then looooots of army painter grass.

While that dried, I ordered mode train terrain trees, plants, and army painter underbrush. Glued that around, then hit the bones and rocks with Vallejo lichen randomly.

Thought it might be cool to hang vines and stuff from the ribs, but want to move on to the next project~

I’m really torn between starting a tomb kings army and a vampire counts army, granted one is legacy but VC have newer models.

Aside from the Nexrosphinx I don’t have any TK models, and I have zero VC models.

I really want TK but the old skeletons are really derpy and disappointing.

I know for certain that I will be doing High Elves but no one knows when they will be released and I want a second army.

Just looking to discuss while I mull it over. Indecision can be really annoying some days.

Another great article from the Rambling Longbeard diving into the history of some High Elf units.

This situation came up where my friends General charged my unit. They issued a challenge which I accepted with my units champion. My lowley spearman sargeant obviously got curb stomped (lol) but now is the challenge over and my lower initiative unit can hit back at his general or do challenges, regardless of outcome, remain until the next turn?

Thanks!

I'm new to warhammer and do not own any paints, since I've been playing Total War Warhammer 2, I've enjoyed playing as the skaven so I was hoping to get the vanguard skaven miniatures, however I do not have the book that would tell me which paints to get. Which paints will I want for the skaven? And are there any cheap alternative paints that might also work well?
