Additionally, I've found that Lawful Security forces (like Crusader Security) will also happen to have these attachments in their chest/leg armor storage.

Just be careful about gaining crimestat right now because of the bug making it very difficult to get out of prison. Take down comm arrays first and check often that it's still down.

Edit: Sounds like it's only Crusader Security forces that carry scorched attachments.

Update at the end of the post:

2024-12-26 0530 UTC - We've begun rolling out a Hotfix to mitigate the leading Hybrid crash. This should greatly reduce the chances of encountering a black screen.

After making some money in Stanton with only the Mustang Alpha (230K in total), I decided to travel to Pyro and Bloom.

It has such a great atmosphere, with its dynamic clouds actually overcasting the Pyro Star.

dynamic clouds now scatter the sunlight

dynamic clouds now scatter the sunlight

Sadly I've discovered that the Hauling Missions in Pyro are super agressive when it comes to SCU Container sizes. Even though I would be able to carry 2x2 SCU or 4x1 SCU containers, the Hauling missions try to keep the amount of cargo containers down to a minimum.

For example a beginner mission over 6 SCU from Golden Riveria to Orbituary: 1x 4 SCU and 1x 2 SCU container... Thanks Roberts for nothing -.-

4.0 Preview - Status Update (robertsspaceindustries.com)
submitted 4 weeks ago by Essence_of_Meh to c/starcitizen

Hello everyone!

We wanted to provide a small update before we get too far into the winter break so we’re starting this thread and will be periodically dropping additional information here as it becomes available.

As many of you have noticed, the 4.0 Preview Environment has experienced numerous issues, some of which have been cleared up and some that have not. Since opening the environment, our teams have been keeping an eye on how things are progressing to ensure we tackle emergent issues to the best of our ability.

While we will aim to have a more in-depth breakdown after the Holiday, here is a brief list of some of the significant issues that have had corrective action taken so far:

  • Global Lag – Once players were jumping into the live scaled environment, we discovered that some aspects of typical player behavior were spamming the infrastructure more than expected. A series of hotfixes were deployed to reduce these systems' impact, resulting in improved interactions responsiveness and faster login queue times.
  • Missions – Next up, the mission service encountered degraded performance after players had been engaging in missions post launch. After the source of the issue was identified, another corrective hotfix was applied.
  • Hangar Spawn – It was discovered that the very recent change to allow players to spawn directly in the Hangar has had some unintended reduction in overall performance of the backend infrastructure. Spawning directly in the Hangar has been temporarily disabled so we can monitor the environment without this added load and ensure that this is the only cause of this issue.

In addition to these, we are currently in the middle of rolling out services updates aimed at optimizing Reputation and Mission services, Social system improvements, preventing concurrent unstows of Hangars, and safeguarding against the current leading cause of Hybrid crashes.

The RSI Knowledge Base also has a list of known issues which can be found here: https://support.robertsspaceindustries.com/hc/en-us/articles/28595368580375-Star-Citizen-Alpha-4-0-Known-Issues

If the issue you’re encountering most frequently is not listed in this thread or on the KB, rest assured we are tracking many more issues and are prioritizing and fixing them as swiftly as we can.

As always, while we are monitoring Spectrum, Reddit, and other social media platforms, the most reliable way to help us identify priority fixes will be through engagement on the RSI Issue Council. https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN

Thank you all for your continued support and we look forward to improving the 4.0 Preview experience in the days to come!

This is a way to earn free ships in Pyro (until the next wipe). It's not easy, but it's a ton of fun with a small group.

Tap for summary by duskfyre4.0 Preview Build
➣ Alpha 4.0 will be released soon to the Live servers, as part of a "4.0 Preview" channel. Expected release is within 12 hours from this post.
➣ Missing mission types and other issues prevent 4.0 from being released to everyone at once.
➣ Two Live Releases will be maintained in parallel:
ㅤ✦__Alpha 3.24.3:__ All existing data, missions, events, and inventories maintained. No transfer to 4.0 or future versions.
ㅤ✦__4.0 Preview:__ Clean slate 4.0 Preview. Includes server meshing, Pyro, and many other 4.0 features.
➣ All progress in 4.0 Preview is intended to carry over to future releases.
➣ Save Stanton and related events will continue to be available on 3.24.3 over holiday break.

Alpha 4.0 Content
➣ Server Meshing:
ㅤ✦ Seamless navigation between Stanton and Pyro with invisible server boundaries.
ㅤ✦ Server crashes are now localized, improving performance and playability.
ㅤ✦ Server load is reduced by having each server simulate fewer entities.
➣ New Content in 4.0:
ㅤ✦ Pyro System: Adds two competing mission chains tied to the Headhunters or Citizens for Prosperity factions.
ㅤ✦ Contested Zones: Locations in Pyro controlled by gang factions (Fire Rats, Horizon, XenoThreat) offering high rewards but requiring player conflict or cooperation.
ㅤ✦ Reputation System: Expanded to allow players to align with factions, affecting friendly/hostile areas.
ㅤ✦ New Progression Methods: Introduction of reputation and physical rewards, setting the stage for more in future updates.

2025: A Focus on Playability
➣ 2025 Focus: The primary goal for 2025 is improving playability in Star Citizen, concentrating on Performance, Stability, and Content
➣ Quality of Life (QoL): Efforts will focus on smoother gameplay with fewer bugs and obstacles, addressing tech debt while balancing new features and tech introduction.
➣ Challenges in Feature and Content Testing: Previous testing of new features within content pipelines caused instability and delays. This approach will change to improve reliability.
➣ Decoupling Feature Development:
ㅤ✦ New features will be tested separately from content releases.
ㅤ✦ Complex features will go through an Experimental PTU (EPTU) for focused testing before integration into the main pipeline.
➣ Stability and Predictability: By isolating feature testing, development will improve stability, performance, and QoL without disrupting content delivery.
➣ Connected Content Drops: Future content releases will be more focused and narrative-driven, offering rewards (ships, armor, weapons) to enhance playability.
➣ More Frequent Content Updates: Aim to deliver more content, more often, avoiding delays caused by tech or feature development.
➣ Objective: Make Star Citizen more stable, performant, and fun in 2025.
➣ Development Philosophy:
ㅤ✦ Chris Roberts reflects on creating games based on personal passion and vision, unimpeded by publishers.
ㅤ✦ Crowdfunding allowed Star Citizen and Squadron 42 to pursue ambitious, niche projects.
➣ Community Impact:
ㅤ✦ Ongoing support from the community is vital for development.
ㅤ✦ In 2024, the community hosted 203 Bar Citizens, with large in-person events like BE@Con and CitizenCon, drawing thousands.
ㅤ✦ Over 1 million players contributed 32 million hours of gameplay, and the community grew by 500,000.
