“Israel makes a killing from the occupation,” says journalist Antony Loewenstein in his new book The Palestine Laboratory, which uncovers how Israel has profited off the terror it reigns over Palestinians.

“Israel's military uses the occupied Palestinian territories as a testing ground for weaponry and surveillance technology that they then export around the world to despots and democracies.”

And with this scheme, he explains, Israel is able to genocide three birds with one stone.

First, most obviously, they achieve their goal of control and carnage in Palestine, making the territory unlivable for the indigenous people in an effort to take the land. Second, Israel’s military industrial complex is vastly enriched from the sale of weapons and tech. And third, Israel’s weaponry allows them to to commit mass terror in Gaza:

“After 1967, there were many nations that publicly opposed what Israel was doing, but the insurance policy is that Israel has been selling weapons and surveillance tech to so many countries for so long that those nations were less likely to criticize Israel where it matters, like the UN.”

And the vast extent of this insurance policy is likely greater than we realize.

“No one even knows, by the way, how many countries Israel has sold weapons to. I calculate anywhere between 125 and 145 nations, which is the majority of nations on the planet, have bought some form of Israeli weapons, surveillance tech, or repressive technology.”

But since October 7, Antony explains, Israel’s grip over the world is slipping. Subscribe to hear the full interview in which Antony explains why “Israel is a house of cards,” how companies like Google and Amazon “are directly complicit in potential war crimes,” and why Israel’s potential war on Hezbollah “would make what's happening in Gaza seem like kindergarten.”

Most cultures have a long-standing prohibition against gloating at an untimely death, even of a sworn enemy, and deep down that prohibition serves a very important function of preserving a sense of shared humanity amidst entrenched hatred and polarizing differences. The catastrophic death of the Iranian president and his team in a helicopter crash elicited solemn condolences from much of the world, except for the West. What values are endorsed by this act of dancing on the grave? To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Mohammad Morandi, a political analyst and professor at the University of Tehran.

He’s been described as a grifter, antisemitic, a conspiracy theorist and more, but the fact remains that he is one of the most viral voices on Twitter today, at one point recently even more viral than the site’s owner Elon Musk.

He’s been banned by most of the Western social media platforms including YouTube and Instagram.

The New York Times descibed him as “incendiary.”

Today we are chatting with Jackson Hinkle, a 24-year-old who has shot into the spotlight as kind of an anti-American pro-American. Confused? So am I, but today we’ll ask him to explain.

This is Reports on China, I’m Andy Boreham in Shanghai. Let’s get reporting!

A Patron of Democracy at Work asks: "I listen to a lot of podcasts such as yourself to get a broader perspective. I love the clarity you bring to pretty much any subject you discuss. I would like your take on something I've heard recently, that communism is actually conservative fascism. It was in the context of the MAGA Communism narrative that has been discussed and in some cases pushed by creators such as Jackson Hinkle. Is someone trying to rewrite the meaning of communism? Or, did I miss something along the way?"

This is Professor Richard Wolff's video response.

The Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Glenn Greenwald takes on famed lawyer and author Alan Dershowitz.

Professor and legal scholar Alan Dershowitz and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald debate the resolution, "The U.S. should strike Iran's nuclear facilities."

Taking the affirmative is Dershowitz, an American lawyer and law professor known for his work in U.S. constitutional law and American criminal law. From 1964 to 2013, he taught at Harvard Law School, where he was appointed as the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law in 1993. He is the author of several books about politics and the law, including The Case for Israel, and The Case for Peace. His two most recent works are The Case Against Impeaching Trump, and Guilt by Accusation: The Challenge of Proving Innocence in the Age of #MeToo. In January 2020, he joined President Donald Trump's legal team as Trump was being tried on impeachment charges in the Senate. He is a strong supporter of Israel, self-identifing as both "pro-Israel and pro-Palestine."

Taking the negative is Greenwald, a constitutional lawyer, investigative journalist, and best-selling author. Acclaimed as one of the 25 most influential political commentators by The Atlantic, one of America's top 10 opinion writers by Newsweek, and one of the Top 100 Global Thinkers for 2013 by Foreign Policy, Greenwald has won the highest awards in journalism, including the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for the NSA-Snowden revelations.

This debate was moderated by Soho Forum Director Gene Epstein.

  3. The recognition of Palestine by Spain, Ireland, and Norway is seen as a positive development and a momentum towards achieving justice and a two-state solution.
  4. The script highlights the Israeli government’s negative response to these developments, indicating their resistance and refusal to learn from the international community’s strong voice in support of Palestine.
  5. The script suggests that the pressure will continue until Palestine’s admission to the UN becomes a reality, emphasizing the importance of reporting on these issues to distinguish between those working towards peace and those hindering it.

The Daily Telegraph published an article accusing Russia and China of boosting musician and journalist Lowkey’s social media accounts, and other ‘pro-Palestinian influencers’, as part of a secretive campaign to promote a "pro-Hamas" narrative in Britain. Lowkey explains how the Israeli intelligence firm behind this report, Cyabra, is a revolving door for the Israeli Defense Forces and debunks each of its claims. Lowkey tells Rania and Eugene this is all part of Israel’s “shadow war” on its geopolitical adversaries and a desperate attempt to regain control of the narrative after failing to convince the world’s people to support the war on Gaza.

More than a thousand Harvard students walked out of their commencement ceremony yesterday to support 13 undergraduates who were barred from graduating after they participated in the Gaza solidarity encampment in Harvard Yard. Asmer Safi, one of the 13 pro-Palestinian student protesters barred from graduating, says that while his future has been thrown into uncertainty while he is on probation, he has no regrets about standing up for Palestinian rights. “This is an ethical stance that we’re taking,” Safi says. We also hear from history professor Alison Frank Johnson, one of over 100 faculty members who voted to confer degrees on the 13 seniors, who describes Harvard’s punishment of them as an “egregious departure from past precedent,” as was the board’s subsequent overruling of faculty. “We hoped then that the Corporation, as it has always done in the past, would accept our recommendations for degree recipients and allow the 13 to graduate, which they chose not to do.”

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is addressing the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, DC, Friday afternoon.

Although Kennedy indicated last month he would not seek the Libertarian Party’s nomination, he has long promoted libertarian policies and values.

Democrat-aligned PAC MoveOn has invested in a mobile billboard campaign to dissuade convention attendees from supporting Kennedy.

Former President Trump will also be speaking at the Libertarian convention this weekend. Trump has been ahead of Biden in recent swing state polls. But the lead is narrow enough in some that a small number of independent and Libertarian voters could make the difference in the electoral college.

Kennedy is scheduled to appear at 3:30 p.m. EDT.

What are the Skills and Strengths Learned In Performing Women’s Traditional Labor of Caring for Vulnerable Lives , and Creating Order and Cleanliness? Why Are These Knowledges Unknown, No Less Uncelebrated? Ignoring these strengths and skills devalues women, devalues caring, devalues life itself and perpetuates callousness towards others, a callousness that allows employers to exploit employees.
