  1. Be awesome! We are all here to share our hobby, so lets share the love.
  2. Posts should be about GW products from the last millennium, but old stuff in general and modern oldhammer style miniatures are also welcome.
  3. No Buying and selling. I’m sure folks will be happy to help you identify or even give a good indication of worth, but leave it at that.

So I thought it would be cool to share where we all get our podcast fix.

I'm always looking for more stuff for my ears to listen to whilst my hands are busy. So thought I would see what you all enjoyed.

My current favourite is the 'The Bedroom Battlefields Tabletop Miniature Hobby Podcast' , I know not the most catchy title, but it's nice and relaxed and doesn't take itself too seriously. Plus their latest episode has an interview Gav Thorpe, so that is well worth a listen.

Let us know your picks.

Congratulations, you have found yourself on the corner of lemmy where we share our fondness for little lead men (and women, and orcs, and elves, and… ...well you get the idea).

So share your stuff and let folks know how great theirs are.

1 Month Update

So here we are, 2 months ago I was happy lurking around on… …somewhere else that we won’t mention, and now I’m moderating this dusty corner of the fediverse and thoroughly enjoying it.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has posted, commented, upvoted and even downvoted, without your interaction this would just be me screaming in to the void.

It has been great to see people enjoying this community. As I have browsed lemmy I have seen countless niche communities that are have two or three posts from weeks ago or just one person posting with no other interaction, so seeing this community (a niche within a niche) thriving has been beautiful to watch.

Here are some of my favourite posts from the first month

If anyone has any posts they enjoyed why not share them below.

Thanks again to you all (including the lurkers, we all know you’re there). u/fearofthedark

Back in August 2023 I uploaded my first video - John Blanche discussing a few of his most famous pieces of Warhammer Art. It was really well received as there wasn't much of this sort of thing online. Since then I've gone on to do a number of other videos, but John and I decided it'd be good to do another Art video. Similar format as before, we picked a few of his iconic pieces and just got him on camera chatting about them.

Note: Some of the BFG art from the rulebook is by artists other than those John mentions. I simply chose those pieces as I felt the really fit the tone of BFG. For example, the art piece of the ships at 06:18 is by Des Hanley.

These videos were made in my spare time, and if you wish to pop a donation my way to help support me it'd be greatly appreciated:

A 2nd Edition battle report between Blood Angels and Genestealer Cult by Crown of Command Games. Popped up randomly in my recommendations as I never saw that channel before.

They also have just started a Tears of Isha campaign for 5th Edition Warhammer Fantasy Battles.

Interview of Bob Naismith on the creation of Space Marines back in the day and some of his more recent sculpting of his own. By Filmdeg Minatures.

Battle Report by Minisodes for an Armageddon campaign they are doing.

The whole thing is just beautiful. The armies are wonderfully painted, the narration is fun, not only describing what happens at the table, but amplify it with some cinematic descriptions. It also has a great intro and outro.
All in all just great stuff.

Album. I’ve had other pewter scouts before but always with bolt pistols. These two I just got my hands on have interesting guns I can’t quite place. Possibly an experimental sculpt of plasma pistols.
