Right now we've got share, bookmark, upvote and down vote.

But I share and bookmark less than I block communities (curating my feed), and hide posts (so I can refresh without scrolling past the same stuff).

The latter two are in the extras menu. It would be great if I could swap these buttons.

Thanks for all your work! This is my favourite Lemmy app!

Since the hack, I need to log off and log back into my account on my android device. I am having trouble finding out how to ACTUALLY log out of Liftoff. Can someone point me to the correct location to do so?

I have 2 accounts on 2 different instances. Lemmy.world and lemdro.id

When I open lift off it's always set to the lemdro.id account even though lemmy.world was logged in first. Also how do I tell which account I'm currently using other than to go to the account tab at the bottom?

Can't see my own posts (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 2 years ago by [email protected] to c/liftoff

I've been having issues with searching, and realized this is connected. So when I search for communities through @lemmy.world I can find them just fine. But if I use my home instance @lemmy.blahaj.zone they're missing - even though I know we're not defederated. It turns out if I make posts on other instances, those posts won't show up on my profile.

After the hack my instance changed it's token (?) Which requires logging in again to comment/post. But when I viewed my profile, my posts were there! Then when I logged in they were gone again. I don't know anything about how apps work, but something with how it retrieves instance data is messing with features.

Is it possible to automatically open Lemmy links in Liftoff instead of the browser when opening them from another app?

I know this might be a but of a long shot, but I would love to see the option to enable a paginated feed, i.e. the user must choose to load the next page of content in their feed.

Pagination adds points of resistance during use and allows for a natural stopping point that can give one the clarity of mind to limit app use to a healthy amount. I understand that the normal web client is like this, but it would be nice to have this feature alongside other UI improvements from Liftoff.

On a personal note, infinite scrolling gives me anxiety and it would be great to be able to choose (of course with infinite scrolling still as the default, as I understand I might be in the minority here).

Thanks for your time and effort.

When an image is opened in the image viewer, it would be great to be able to double tap and pull down / up to zoom in / out as is the case in many other apps, at least on Android.

This would make using the app with one hand much handier.

Edit: to clarify, I don't mean the existing gesture which zooms by a fixed amount after double tapping. I would like to be able to hold the second tap and then pull up or down to manually zoom out or in.

Not necessarily a button, just came to mind first.

Noticed a moment ago after blocking a community I’m not interested in seeing, there was no quick and easy way to get to the top menu to refresh the feed. A button or pull down method to quickly return to the top of a feed, or just show the top bar quickly would be nice!

Can't view "Subscribed" on main feed

Can't see communities list

When I went to post via the app it said I wasn't logged in. So went to check settings > account, clicked on my name and saw this:

This only started today. It was fine last night. I'm on 0.10.7

I often search by local all but there are so many posts from Lemmy.nsfw. Nothing against the community but I do a lot of scrolling at work so that's not ideal.

Is there a way to block that instance without blocking all NSFW posts? (Need to keep my shit posts lol)

I've slowly been blocking individual instances but if I can block the whole domain that would be ideal (this might be obvious but I can't figure it out)

E: thanks for the advice everyone, guess I'll keep knocking em out when they pop up.

Sometimes in a post I make the "back gesture" 1 time but it will be executed 2 times, but not always, only like every 10th time or so. This only happens in Liftoff so I assume it's a problem within the app.

Is anybody else seeing this behavior?

A number of Lemmy instances have been hacked overnight.

Some may remain inaccessible until they have been secured and restarted.

As a safety precaution logged-on sessions on many servers have been cancelled and you are required to logon again.

Unfortunately, the only way I could find to do this in Liftoff! is by going to Settings > Accounts and deleting each local account by long pressing on it, and then create it again.

All your posts, comments and bookmarks should be preserved during this process.

Please see the linked posts for further details as they emerge.

Thanks all, and please bear with us as this gets resolved.

Linked is a git project to export and import your community subscriptions. Something like this would be a great addition to the accounts page someday.

Hi — Could we add the ability to blur NSFW images instead of just hiding? This would allow me to peek to view and then quickly re-blur, would also allow for more space to select the image.

~~Also, is there a technical reason we can’t upvote across instances? Seems to work in other apps, but I have no real way to verify. ~~ Thanks!

Edit: Looks like I was selecting [email protected]. I guess the ask is to remove lemmy.world if it’s not your instance

Currently long-pressing on a comment displays a ripple but doesn’t do anything beyond collapsing that single comment (same behavior as simple tap). It would be great if long-press could collapse a comment thread all the way up to the root comment.

Thanks, all of your updates have been terrific!

I'm just trying to work out whether I'm missing something. When I get replies to my comments I would like to be able to tap the comment and be taken back to the original message so that I know what the reply is in reference to.

Is this something that I can do? I can't see an option but maybe I am missing something.

Solved: Thank you kind stranger.

This is the most polished app I've seen yet for Lemmy. It has many features that's just simply missing on many other Lemmy apps and has a nice interface. It's also not that buggy from my experience, and doesn't really crash at all. I might actually be able to ditch my PC to browse Lemmy and moderate my communities now! Thanks for the app, developer!

on feddit.cl, replies to comments don't show, on the browser Lemmy, they appear collapsed.

Support for read status (programming.dev)
submitted 2 years ago by [email protected] to c/liftoff

It seems Liftoff does not yet support Lemmy read status. There's also no settings to hide read topics.

However I found that if I read a topic using Jerboa (with read posts will be hidden afterwards), it will be hidden on Liftoff. While reading any topics on Liftoff won't hide it when viewing from Jerboa.

We had the old (ex-Limbo) version still sitting in TestFlight, but found that some users hadn't realised that they were on that version rather than the current, maintained version so access to that version now been switched off.

If you find you've just lost access to Liftoff!, please join the new TestFlight version at https://testflight.apple.com/join/jKENkGjX -- you should see version 0.10.7 there, with many, many new and improved features!

222

Can you make it a universal search bar? Without need to select an instance.

Push Notifications? (self.liftoff)
submitted 2 years ago by aessedai to c/liftoff

Is there a way to get push notifications for replies and/or specific communities? There's only a couple that I sub to that I'd want to prioritize and one that I mod.

224

The jerboa app does this, and it helps when searching for a community to see how many people use it, especially when there are multiple across different instances.

That said, I don't really know how accurate their number is so maybe it's not super viable

Specifically, I would like to move lemmy.world lower down the list as it's not my main instance. Not sure if this is something that can be done at present or not?
