I actually came here to post about a similar issue. I looked at a comment that was just a link, I long pressed expecting to see a menu akin to right click so I could copy the link, but instead it minimized the comment.

I'm loving connect so far after rif died, but this would be a great change. Personally I don't need a shortcut to hide a comment, I'll just keep scrolling

It adds nothing of value. It's just a neat gimmick. I don't want a crease in my screen, I don't want to double the width of my phone in my pocket, and I have no valid use cases for it.
