The lesson learned from history, at least when it came to drafting the German Basic Law in 1948/49, is that freedom of speech must bow to the sanctity of human dignity, as does everything else.

Bayrische kids aren't alright.
As someone who has played TTRPGs for over 20 years, many of which spent with D&D, I can confidently say that playing BG3 has very little to do with the experience of playing D&D. BG3 is still a video game with all the limitations and pre-made choices (dialog-wise, in terms of mechanics, world Interactions etc) as any other video game. I would compare what's going on in my head while playing D&D to reading a book and visualizing what's on the page in my imagination.
This sounds so bizarre to me. "If you're quick enough"? What happens if you aren't? What kind of insane, voluntary 1984-esque nightmare is this app?
What an abhorrent take. That's an insane set of expectations to place on someone who doesn't even have a say in the process of coming into being and, frankly, gambling with another person's life. "Welp, we couldn't fix it but good luck kiddo." Disgusting.
Agreed, and in my bias toward them I will shamelessly mention the MCDM RPG that's currently in development. They are very open and showcasing their process, and I think their attitude not only regarding TTRPGs but also in terms of business practices is very healthy and commendable.
